In this case, it is applicable since Rs are willing to give Trump a pass, but if Dems give a pass to a politician who not only apologized for what he did (and Trump has never ever apologized for his sin.. he even said he never had need to apologize for anything), but hasn't done anything of this sort in decades, then it's not ok?
