Answering a question from another thread, "What's Worse", since it was locked:
What is worse: (1) Jr. took the bait and solicited dirt from Russia; or (2) that he sat on this bombshell until it was exposed? I think it's #2. The excuse that he's a novice and not a politico would have worked if he just came clean early on and said Russia approached him. With all the allegations swirling about Russia, this may have blown over if he came out himself and disclosed this even if he did it months after the June 9th meeting.
(1) is worse because it let to (2). The Russians had high confidence their scheme could work because Junior's a novice. But his ignorance was about the implications of what he was getting into, not about whether or not it was wrong to meet with them. The Trump family obviously has some serious money problems - which is the reason financial transparency should be a concrete requirement of candidates, not merely a courtesy - and the news that keeps trickling out about the Trump/Russia relationship only shows just how much both sides needed him to win. More than that, all parties need him to stay in office until the transaction is finished. The problem for Trump - and now for America - is that it's not finished until the Russians say it's finished.
