Pretty simple that all kids, specially late kids develop at different times. No? But as they get older, the early advantages disappear. No? But if you make them play down and aylt younger years, they will be judged at beating younger players and not on age, no? Also, U15 in this area plays way less showcases. So, if they play on grade, way more showcases, they play a year down, way less showcases. How do you account for that during the recruiting years the Aug-Sept kids who were on school year are now getting way less showcases during their recruiting ages? Thoughts? Still think it is not a severe disadvantage? They were playing successfully on grade, then forced to play below grade, and now miss all on grade showcases? That is not a disadvantage? No matter how good they play below grade, being seen too late, versus being seen late n grade and let their skills speak for themselves..
Four things. It's pretty simple that advantages accumulate over time so it's best to be in an advantageous situation for a length of time to capture long term gains. Not knowing this makes you uninformed. Second, you have to compare playing on age vs playing up when not ready. Science says playing on age will make you a better player as the oldest in an age range and being the youngest will increase chances of quitting (getting on a secondary team, worse coaches, less playing time, etc.) College coaches prefer having better players to recruit rather than picking a kid who players on a team with older kids. They said this, this isn't a trust me comment. Not knowing this makes you uniformed. Third, clubs are actively discouraging playing up so no one will expect anyone to play up except maybe the boomers that can't fathom that club soccer doesn't use grades. Not knowing this makes you uninformed. And finally fourth, the amount that you protest to try to force grade year into soccer and try to offer misinformation in this thread makes it clear how much you need soccer to go grade year, meaning your judgement is clouded with bias. It's like you want to hypothetically make your Sept girl the oldest to reap the rewards of being the oldest while pretending they don't exist so August births are fooled into bad decisions. This makes it clear that you don't want to be properly informed and will never agree to the facts and will just slink away in a little bit just constantly complaining to everyone around you that you right and they were wrong. The rest of us won't be bitter or celebrate because we were just telling you you were wrong and never picked a position.
