Top headline on my Wapo front page this morning, with sub heading: “Biden team hails ‘lightning speed’ call on strikes in Russia. Meanwhile, Kharkiv burned. Washington finally allowed Kyiv to strike limited targets inside Russia with limited weapons. It might be too little, too late.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2024/06/01/us-ukraine-weapons-kharkiv-biden/ The article does not mention a single time that it was the GOP who blocked all aid for months allowing Russia to take the lead. It paints a picture of a dithering president being obsessed with the details. It is unreal how slanted the allegedly liberal media is and how badly they want the traitorous and fascist GOP in office.
Sick. Probably a combination of corporates pushing on them plus emasculated editors who are overly afraid of being accused of being biased or pandering to Biden. Deranged pendulum-swing garbage.
We have by far the two worst presidential candidates in the history of America with one of them being a convicted felon and you people are scratching your heads wondering "uh duh duh something seems different duh duh". C'mon people, think a little. Everything about this election and current politics in America is not normal. Everything will feel different. If you don't like it, stop voting for garbage candidates.
STFU. Seriously there aren’t two sides here. Grow up already.
+1 This isn’t 2016. The choice is Biden or the felon. For some reason the “left wing” media keeps working to elect the felon.
This is true but it doesn't negate the fact that we will have a sub-standard POTUS of questionable fitness leading us until 2029. Regardless of who wins in November, this election will be an embarrassing stain on America's reputation around the world. The American people will lose big time in November.
Biden beat trump once and is the only Dem who comes close to beating him in the polling. If the GOP ran a "normal" candidate, Biden would drop out. But the GOP is so far gone off the cult of Trump rabbit hole that this is what we have. I am still awaiting the polling that would suggest independents and traditional conservatives are chomping at the but to vote for a felon.
If Biden is the only candidate the DNC can convince to run on their ticket that is capable of beating the absolute worst POTUS candidate ever who is now also a convicted felon, well then the DNC needs to be put out of business after the 2024 election. They are a private entity that shouldn't be considered too large to fail. We must do much, much better.
Well get out there buttercup! Start your grass roots effort today, because it will take years to build another party. But spare us your complaints about the Democratic Party 6 months before a presidential election. You are lazy and boring.
The most effective Dem candidates are ones that bind together the various elements of their party's constituencies. Biden is that choice in this cycle as he was in the last. Next cycle, if Harris doesn't run, the party will reach down into the ranks of some 50-something governors for the top of the ticket. It will be a good contest.
Newsome, Whitmer and Shapiro should be the pick of the litter there.
Newsome wouldn't be a great national candidate due to the Dems not needing help to win California and California politicians not being all that popular outside of California in the current political landscape. Andy Beshear to go along with Whitmer and Shapiro gives the Dem a much better bench to pull from in 2028 relative to recent elections. You have to assume the GOP will put forth a better candidate in 2028 since the Trump bar is as low as it gets so the Dems will need to step it up too.
