Our civil and voting rights are under threat. Instead of grandstanding speeches the day before a failed vote after a year of ignoring the problem maybe Biden should be focused on that instead of his universal social welfare policies. Damn. Manchin is willing to support voting rights - stop trying to take a mile and accept a few feet of voter protections and come back for more.
No, he’s not. Stop trying to excuse him.
He's literally a co-sponsor on the Freedom To Vote Act https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/117/s2747/cosponsors
It was filibustered by his Republican friends. Didn't he promise to deliver 10 Republicans in the name of bipartisanship?
Yeah and Biden promised to cross the bipartisan divide with his 50 years of experience in the Senate. He didn’t. At least Manchin got the votes needed for Infrastructure.
Crossing the bipartisan divide takes two sides. Republicans are staunchly entrenched in assholedom. Can't blame Biden for that. So your point is kinda... pointless.
Oh, please. You don't cross the divide by approaching Congress with q 3.5 TRILLION dollar proposal stuffed with port. That is exactly where he started. And, you don't cross the divide by lying that it costs $zero. And, you don't cross the divide by insulting and demeaning people who decide not to get vaccinated - especially now that we find the CDC has said that natural immunity is more robust than vaccines in fighting Delta. And, you don't cross the divide by firing millions of Americans because they won't get jabbed when many of them have natural immunity. And, you don't cross the divide by putting forth a partisan bill on "voting rights" that isn't voting rights at all. And, you don't cross the divide by insisting inflation is transitory. And, you don't cross the divide by planning and executing a disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan then claiming it was an "extraordinary success." And, you don't cross the divide by totally ignoring the southern border allowing millions to cross illegally. Biden is to blame for every bit of the divide. He has been a disaster.
