I know this is a very old post and things have changed since December, but why would you raise taxes when so many Americans (those that work) are one paycheck away from homelessness?

In order to cover the non-working and/or PT workers?  I am legitimately sorry that having children/living is so expensive, but why do we have to change things in order to cover people who choose not to support themselves?

Just a reality check here...
Compared to the start of the pandemic, now fewer people are unemployed, wages have gone up, household savings have gone up, fewer children are in poverty, people are less close to the brink of homelessness now than they were before.  Yet for some reason people want to pretend the opposite is the case?[/quote]

Where did anyone say that wasn't the case? But handing 4X the unemployment, endless stimulus checks, and child UBI is not the answer as the inflation rate has tripled in that time period as well.[/quote]

Most of the inflation has been driven by gasoline prices, natural gas prices, used car prices and supply chain issues due to insufficient workers and drivers to move goods - which have virtually nothing to do with unemployment checks and stimulus.[/quote]

Uh huh - according to who? Biden who doesn't believe his own polls? Or his aides who were desperate to pass a $3 trillion social welfare bill?
