They're in the lowest risk group and they've all been continually tested for months. Honestly, nobody's going to get COVID from storming a football field with a bunch of other kids.
They are coming home for Thanksgiving shortly. I doubt all the members of their families are in the lowest risk group.
If they don’t have it at school, what makes you they’ll have it when they get home?
What makes you think they don't have it at school, especially if they were among the thousands of kids who all piled together in celebration on the football field? Notre Dame's COVID Dashboard estimates that the school has 236 active cases, and this would likely not reflect anyone who was infected after students stormed the field. People can have it and be asymptomatic. If I were a Notre Dame parent, I'd make sure my kid got tested before he or she came home for Thanksgiving, and I'd probably ask them to quarantine in the basement for a while. People can afford to be cavalier when it comes to college students being infected. If they come home and infect their middle-aged parents and their grandparents, that's going to be a different narrative.
