If you owned your child, the state couldn't take your child from you for failure to care for them properly.  The state can intervene specifically because you do not "own" your child.  Your child is an independent human being with their own rights independent of their parents.[/quote]

And that’s why when a pregnant woman is murdered it’s double homicide. Or if a pregnant woman loses her baby because of another person’s interference with bad intent, violence, poisoning, etc.
