Don Jr. is always trying to look "cool." He really is Kendall from succession and just deeply insecure and uncomfortable in his own skin, and constantly trying to get other people to approve of him so he can feel okay for like three seconds. That's why he's soooooo gross looking, because he's trying so hard. The older he gets the worse it is because he's a doughy middle aged man pulling this crap. It's even more embarrassing than when some 25 year old does it.

JD Vance has the same problem.

Eric is also terrible as a person but appears to be more comfortable in his looks. He looks like a tall, slightly balding middle aged accountant, and he's like "ok, I will just do the rich, trashy version of that." Not great but at least he accepts it. It is similar to Prince William, who has similar looks and just seeks to make it looked as refined and royal as possible but isn't trying to trick anyone into thinking he's not going bald or doesn't have a weak chin.
