Is there any truth to articles circulating saying that natural immunity is broader without the boosters, and repeated boosting is making people more inclined to get new variants because of this limited ability to make a broad immune response?
This isn't a booster issue. It is a vaccine issue. If the variants can sneak past the immune response that has been taught to recognize the original spike protein, they might be more likely to infect the vaccinated (than the prior infected) IF the immune systems of the prior infected are able to recognize and target other parts of the virus. With that said, a partial immune response can still be good enough if it protects against severe illness-- whether it comes from vaccination or prior infection.
