Because Canada is requiring more foreign border crossers to be required. As of January 15, 2022 the following groups of border crossers must be fully vaccinated:

-Individuals travelling to reunite with family
-International students
-Professional athletes and their support staff, and amateur athletes
-Individuals with a valid work permit
-Most essential service providers (including truck drivers, emergency service providers and marine researchers)

In short, why are truckers special snowflakes? Why do they deserve an exemption from the requirements for border crossers?[/quote]

Also, on November 30, 2021, tourists to Canada must be fully vaccinated. So requiring truckers to be vaccinated parallels the requirements that apply to pretty much any other group of border crossers.

What happened to the refrains of "border security" and "a country has the right to police its borders"?[/quote]
