I don’t know about that, it sounded more to me like he concluded in his report that all the activity was from devices known to be “owned” by Christine, with activity coming from the Banfield home, at times when Christine was home (or not connected/clocked in elsewhere). That’s seemingly all true. No one else has provided any time stamp otherwise.

It turns out Brendan had factored that in and gotten ahold of the devices only while Christine was home (whether with permission or not).

What it sounded like to me that some others were incredulous and maybe thought he missed something. It’s a little hard to believe Brendan pulled that off, but it seems like he did. Miller stood by his report at the time and I actually don’t think he’s wrong to do so in the end. Anyway, Carroll was basically just trying to get blood from a turnip, Miller just acknowledged the situation and that it was a unique case, he stood by the report and still does but now they have external corroboration.

There was an email after Juliana flipped that said something like “in light of the proffer we need to review all this again.”

But the result was still mostly the same, someone was using Christine’s devices in the house only while Christine was there. There are many reasons why the activity is off given other things known about Christine, and there are some suspicious gaps in the account use when Juliana and Brendan traveled. But there is no “smoking gun” that anyone has found in the time since that can prove a device was used while Christine was definitely elsewhere, or connect the accounts to a device known to be owned by BB/Juliana (they did get rid of their phones and got new phone IDs right beforehand though, so there was something he wanted to hide. But the account activity could be determined from the Fetlife/Telegram side, so it must have been texts or something).

That is why the CW needed Juliana to flip and why her deal is so good. They could have gone to trial without her but it wouldn’t be as strong of a case and the stakes are high. Juliana provided the external corroboration. On closing the CW acknowledged there are some limits to the digital forensics and basically asked jurors to consider all the evidence as it fits together.
