The alt-right attracts a surprising amount of young gay men.  It’s complicated, but a lot of the values of that community align with the right (particularly the glorifying of masculinity).  LGBTQ are more accepted in society nowadays, so civil rights isn’t at the forefront of their concerns.  I don’t think they’re aware of how precarious their position is.  There must be some cognitive dissonance that goes on when conservative leaders throw them under the bus.[/quote]
