I'm the PP you quoted.  If she didn't have a child, I would just think of her as a typical reality-tv egomaniac who believes her own press a bit too much. But the fact that she just oozes toxicity and bitterness, and is raising a child, really triggers something in me.  I was raised in a pretty toxic family (my mom isn't like B, but there were many other bad issues at play) and I've suffered for it without even realizing how much until I had kids.  I feel like every day of my life as a parent is spent trying to act how a "normal" person would, when parenting her children.  Trying to parent without bringing all the mountains of baggage from my childhood into every interaction is beyond draining but it's my privilege because I don't want the cycle to continue. So yes, there's a reason I feel so much hatred toward B. I am already projecting how her behavior will affect her child today and in the future.  You can say I'm thinking way too much about all of this and you'd be completely correct. But that's where my hatred of her comes from. [/quote]

I respect the fact that you would share honestly about your experience and perspective. I don't have the same perspective but I now get where you're coming from. I don't support or agree with how Bethenny treats people when it comes to being brutally honest or airing out their dirty laundry.  But I also think that people like Bethenny are so hurt that they hurt others, which is no excuse of course. [/quote]
