Taylor is filthy rich but an extremely basic dimwitted boring and uneducated American gal. That "boring" jab must have cut her so deep. She has always tried to surround herself with edgy art scene creatives and Euros and tries to masquerade as this creative erudite poet. To pretend she's content with some idiot American football jock and his flyover prole family is laughable. That's why every time she's with him, his family, and/or his social circle she's got booze in her hand. She's miserable af.
I agree with your assessment of her but actually think she's happy with Travis. Because that's who she really is. She's a basic b who just wants a big rich football bro to give her a honking diamond ring and treat her like a princess. This is also what most Taylor fans want for themselves. Remember that Taylor was a heavily manufactured Nashville product -- it's not like she came up as an edgy artist. She's always chased trends and "edgy indie singer-songwriter" was one for her. It dovetailed with her Matty and Joe Alwyn relationships, and Taylor is the sort of person who is good at winning people over. But that's just not who she is. She's a Midwestern UMC daddy's girl who wants the whitebred American ideal. Anything seemingly edgy about her was purchased, it's not authentic to her.
Is Pennsylvania the Midwest now?
I'm from PA and most of it is the Midwest culturally. Like, "rust belt" okay, but most of PA has way more in common with Ohio than NY or Boston or DC. Like basically everything except Philly and very close in burbs. I don't know which part Taylor is from. But didn't her family move to Nashville anyway? I thought she was way more connected to that area than where she was born in PA.
