I haven’t seen Democrats this upset since they lost the ability to have slaves with the passage of the 13th Amendment.
This isn't the own you think it is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_strategy Today's GOP is the Dem Party of the 13th Amendment.
Lol…did you actually use Wikipedia to make some point? Bless your sweet heart.
Do you know what the Southern Strategy is, and what it meant for the rotation between the political parties?
The southern strategy was 70-80 years ago.
No, more like 60 and continuing. 1964 was when Strom Thurmond switched parties and Goldwater won 5 southern states. It was also the year Johnson got the Civil Rights Act passed. The act was signed in July, Thurmond switched parties in September. This shift had already started--Truman was vocal on civil rights, Kennedy promised to secure equal rights for African Americans (even if he didn't take strong action, he did bail MLK Jr out of jail during the campaign, upon which MLK Sr switched to supporting Kennedy, bringing black voters with him). Segregationists became Republicans. Formal segregation became (another) Lost Cause but the Republican Party in the South is the direct descendant of the old southern Democrats.
