My true opinion is that someone f*cked up the closed captions/subtitles, and wrote "princess" instead of "princes." When I was watching the show I heard "princes." I think they were referring to Ken and Roman. But this error has made everyone think they're talking about a woman. [/quote]

It was Gerri they were talking about.  Between the three of them - Karl, Frank, and Gerri - Gerri's name was the one most realistically floated to take over.  Karl and Frank don't want that and have probably been jealous of Gerri's access to Logan for years.  So they're agreeing, they don't want that "princess" taking the reins.  Interesting that they didn't seem to have an issue with both the boys taking over together.  [/quote]

+1. I am re-watching this episode and Karl is definitely referring to Gerri. Gerri just viciously and snidely ridiculed Karl when he tried to put himself forward for CEO and he was trying to undercut her when she was advocating for herself. I am not surprised they refer to Gerri as "the princess." These are guys that came up in a time of massive and accepted sexism. Gerri is older now, but she' s attractive and was obviously attractive when she was younger. Karl at least resents her.[/quote]

I agree that Karl, especially, does not want Gerri to become CEO -- I think there is bad blood beyond competitiveness between them.

However, I do not think Gerri was the "princess" he was referring to. I think it was someone else (best bet is Shiv) penciled onto the paper, and then he's also mentioning that Gerri is trying to push him aside. So it's like a list: (1) princess, (2) Gerri.

Also, if they were referring to Gerri, what does that have to do with the paper? They didn't have time to do anything to it before Gerri came in, so the paper couldn't have mentioned Gerri (also, unlikely to me that Logan would have specified Gerri for taking over, he didn't particularly like her and was suspicious of her for quite a while before he died). So I don't think there was anything on the paper that implicated Gerri, which means there must have been something else on the paper that concerned them, and that ultimately winds up concerning Gerri as well. The princess.[/quote]
