The pool is going to raise real estate values for some homes and reduce them for others. It’s much better than I thought it would turn out. I feel bad for some of the houses directly across because of the obnoxious building they added. But I think other houses will see the pool as a selling point. Still Cheh should be ashamed by the way it dragged on for two years. This was all her idea - she should have taken more ownership.
Because she is the one pouring the concrete? Please. How long did it take for Cathedral Commons to get built? 13 years? Is that her fault too?
No Cathedral Commons isn’t Cheh’s fault. But why are you resistant to holding a public official accountable - especially one who spearhead fed the project? She pushed it forward and then went silent while itanguished for two years. Isn’t it our job as citizens to hold people in public office responsible?
You really woke up at 4:45 to post this? This is what keeps you up at night? So here is the thing. She didn't go radio silent. She held meetings. She used her oversight to ask questions in formal settings. If members of the public couldn't get answers, her staff fielded questions and got answers of DGS. I am not sure why you claim she went radio silent for 2 years. She did what any Councilmember could do to keep the project moving. But as has been posted here already, the Council has one role, the Executive Branch and Agencies have another. If you are upset about the delay, that is on the Executive Branch. Understanding how government works and where the responsibilities are, make it easier to assign blame when and where warranted. Assigning blame to Cheh for the delay or execution is unwarranted, as that is not the Councilmember's role. But you can keep on posting here your (misplaced) ire, or, if you think you can do a better job, then you should run for Council yourself.
