There is money to educate Maryland residency cheaters, but not enough money to keep DPR facilities like the pools free for DC taxpayers. A pool membership for a family of 4 will now cost you $600. http://dpr.dc.gov/sites/default/files/dc/sites/dpr/publication/attachments/June%202016%20-%20DPR%20Fee%20Schedule.pdf
They were free before thanks to a corporate grant. Never tax dollars.
Huh? when did they start charging?
I went to the pool last week. They're not charging.
It is new - starts in a couple months. My neighborhood listserv is blowing up about it today.
MOTH has been silent. And if the corporate grant ran out, why didn't they seek it again? Or rearrange tax dollars to keep the pools open? There is no sliding scale but you can apply for reduced cost. Just what we need, a bunch more people on the street. Please link me with your information regarding this corporate grant that ran out. Again another bungled mess by the city council and our pathetic Mayor.
