Is it ironic that WFH anti RTO people use childcare with no RTO allowed?
I think it's different because people aren't arguing that jobs that have to be done in person should be allowed to TW. For example, someone working in a SCIF isn't advocating to be able to TW nor is someone that is a police officer or a firefighter.
DP but I’ve actually heard the inverse. Because there are a lot of jobs that cannot be performed at home then no one should be able to WAH. Which is weird because all jobs are different and have different requirements and different pros/cons. My hair girl runs her own studio. She cannot WAH (heck she can’t even sit most of the day), but she has total control of her hours around her kids’ school schedules and can go part time or work more hours as her schedule allows. Is it fair that other people get to sit at a desk all day and she has to stand? Is it fair that she can schedule her work whenever she wants and others can’t? What about teachers. They have to be in person, but they’re also off for 2 weeks of winter break while a lot of us WAH parents are burning leave or paying for camps. It’s such a dumb rabbit hole to go down.
