I don't consider giving Biden a scathing letter to be "grandstanding" at all.  I'd call it well-deserved.  And absolutely correct.

The governor was greeting Biden on the tarmac when he handed him the letter, which began with Abbott writing: “Your visit to our southern border with Mexico today is $20 billion too little and two years too late.”

“Moreover, your visit avoids the sites where mass illegal immigration occurs and sidesteps the thousands of angry Texas property owners who lives have been destroyed by your border policies,” the letter read.

Abbott claimed in the letter that downtown El Paso had been “sanitized of the migrant camps” that he said had overrun the city in an attempt by the administration to “shield” Biden from “the chaos that Texans experience on a daily basis.”

“This chaos is the direct result of your failure to enforce the immigration laws that Congress enacted,” Abbott wrote.

You're aware that the El Paso mayor declared a state of emergency due to the influx of migrants, yes?  And that as governor of Texas, Abbott is trying to help him?  JFC.  That letter was exactly what Biden deserved.  [/quote]

And if El Paso was in such dire straits and a state of emergency for the last 2 years how did it suddenly get cleansed in just one week flat - and without Biden even lifting a finger?  Come on, man. You're kidding, right?  El Paso didn't get "cleaned," you numbskull.  The small area that Biden was going to see was cleaned up - I can't imagine why, however.  He should have to see [b]exactly[/b] what his policies have wrought.  No doubt his advance team ordered the area sanitized prior to his visit.   :roll: [/quote]
