The entire NFL played behind closed doors and empty stadiums - time in-person was truncated and players were quarantined with much more regularity than regular society. No long weeks away with bar bunnies on private planes. No vacations to private islands and yachts with teammates. Just enforced family time. So no their take is not moronic.

The college football season was freaking canceled for gods' sake.

The offseason program, usually the first-time coaches and players can gather for meetings and workouts, went online and stayed that way throughout the summer, cancelling OTAs and minicamps. Starting April 20, clubs were allowed to have virtual classroom sessions and workouts. Teams shipped $1,500 worth of equipment to each player for virtual workouts because most gyms were closed. That supplemented the home-grown workouts players had already constructed.
