Even if reasonable leeway is given for opt out notices to make it to the teachers, those lists could be changing day by day and you can’t expect the teachers to memorize which of their 23 students have opted into or out of masks. That means every time the teacher sees a kid without a mask on properly, they have to stop what they are doing to check the list before reminding the kid to pull their mask back up of their nose. What you want was the original plan until the teachers pointed out to the administration that it was not a workable plan for them. Constant list checking would take away instructional time and be very disruptive, and one of them want to get abusive emails and complaints to their admins from parents because they accidentally told a kid to put their mask on after the parent sent in an opt-out. Do you think teachers just sit around twiddling their thumbs all day?[/quote]
