Some of you might be unaware that we have always celebrated July 4th in a big way in DC. The parade, the much loved Capitol Fourth concert and of course fireworks. People always throng to the Mall on the 4th. It is especially inspiring to read the inscriptions on the Jefferson, Lincoln, FDR and Dr. King memorials. Indeed. Which is why I thought it was asinine that so many of my friends on FB were gleefully posting weather reports and hoping for low turnout and that the day would "be ruined". Can you get any smaller or more shrivelled than that? I hope for their mental health that they take some calming breaths and channel their emotions more positively.[/quote]
