In my kid's school, lots of parents volunteer for parties (not just the room mom), and while I enjoy watching the kids, it takes time to buy snacks, come up with an idea for a craft/game, and decorate. It's definitely work, and in my kid's school, the kids seem to love the chance to celebrate Halloween, Valentine's day or the end of the year. [/quote]
