People who don't own cars annoy me. Because they are always the first in line to want a ride somewhere. Then, after you go out of your way to help them time and time again, they get to brag to everyone about how much cooler they are because they are "urban" and don't "depend on a car." People even do this at my office in a professional environment, where I feel the need to shuttle them back and forth with me to conferences, etc. That seems quite unprofessional. Grow up and get a vehicle. You don't have to drive it much at all, but at least own something. Or quit asking for rides. .
I don't own a car. I live in SF and it would cost over $300 a month just to PARK it somewhere, plus there's mass transit to use to get around. When carrying something heavy or if it's raining heavily, there are taxis or Uber. I NEVER ask someone for a ride. If someone offers I generally won't turn them down, unless it's way out of their way (in which case I offer toll/gas money). I don't brag about not owning a car. Getting rid of my car was the scariest thing I've ever done.
On so many levels your comment is not relevant. First, the poster was not describing your behavior about cars. Second, you live in SF. Perhaps if you post in SFUM, someone may understand your lack of reading comprehension
