Not quite. SJC came out with three very easy quick goals, but overall it felt like a bit of an off day. After the first few goals, looked like Saints defense really settled in and made it tough for SJC to get anything clean-- shots felt rushed, off, and weaker than i've seen. On the SSSA side, honestly didn’t see a weak link on offense. They looked way more connected than I remember last year, moving the ball well and not playing hero ball. Not sure exactly who the underclassmen were, but they’ve definitely got depth.
SSSAS dominated overall. Effective on attack, strong in draw and transition, solid on D. Talented team. SSSAS #41 was impressive running downhill to goal and finishing. A transfer? Seems that they will be hard to beat in the ISL if they can maintain their level of play for the full season, especially if yesterday included seniors out. SJC struggled to clear; early season issues, with three starting defenders who drove the clear for them out with injuries. As a result, they didn't have their rhythm on attack either. Wouldn't count them out, as they are well-coached and improved over the course of last season. Cadets have some good young talent, upper class leadership, and can pull it together.
