What about the fight at school that happened earlier that day between the shooter and the victim? Why weren't they taken to the office for fighting? Did not one person see the fight? I'd kids are fighting in the halls do people just ignore it and not get help? Do teachers call security? What happens in MCPs if kids get into a physical altercation? If these kids fought earlier, the school should've intervened and tried to mediate. Sounds like there is seriously no supervision or rules.
Omfg you have a LOT to read up on. Get going.
Not op but I've been skimming and I've not seen any more information about the possible fight beside when it was mentioned as a possible motive. Maybe it ended up being just a rumor to try and explain this horrible situation. With that said, it wouldn't surprise me if they fought earlier and were just sent back to class. I've seen kids having to be physically separated and sent on their way if neither are hurt.
Wow! I'm shocked that a physical fight doesn't automatically mean some type of punishment and mediation between the 2 kids. Something tells me administrators just tell kids to "ignore each other" then send them on their way. As if that will fix the problem between the kids. It's so sad that MCPS has no discipline policy. This is why kids bully. This is why kids act out. This is why kids think it's okay to treat each other with disrespect. Sounds like chaos over at MCPS. My neighborhood DCPS elementary school has metal detectors. So sad MCPS is so behind the times in every way.
