NVA targeted BP to run the girls side of NVA. He declined to interview.
Good decision on his part clubs are going in opposite directions
if talking leagues this makes sense. If talking winning… hearing grumbling at VDA after this seasons playoffs. Fickle crowd is loud. Not everyone is sold…
You must be talking about the VDA 09 BP super team that did not make it out of their group in San Diego? I assume parents are upset. When you consider their daughters have played in the round of 16 in the two years before BP’s arrival and then get dominated in group play. Many of the players that carried the team in previous years had a good seat from the bench in San Diego as BP crashed out of the playoffs early. Great X account though…
So the Pupp is a fraud? What exactly or how has he achieved a position like the one he has?
I wouldn't say he's a fraud, but I think his connections to US soccer, coupled with the college contacts he and his wife have has allowed for him to be a great recruiter of talent to his teams. It seems though, in the highest leverage situations his teams largely come up short. Maybe he just keeps getting out coached at the top level, but his ability to give out National Team ID camp invites overshadows that fact. I mean really the 09 VDA team was on the shortlist of betting favorites (From around the country, not just the DMV area) to win a national title, at a minimum at least make the national finals in Richmond. They didn't even make it out of their group, and it wasn't even close... He'll dangle a couple more ID camp invites, bring in some new girls, and try it all again next year I guess.
This will be an interesting season for the 09 VDA since they’ve picked up a few NVA players. Some are trapped and VDA will benefit when ECNL goes to SY. Not sure how many will be thrilled with going from a starting/impact role to potentially a bench warmer.
That already happened this year and it showed in San Diego.
Not to the full extent
