The ppl who are likely on this thread are parents of players who are on the teams and clubs that have players regularly scouted into DCUA. So PPs know DCUA families past and current. It’s a very small world when your player plays at a certain level.

Obviously, do your own research offline but many of the criticisms here are not speculation but firsthand shared by DCUA parents and players.

If you’re willing to put your player into DCUA to see if it’s a good fit, great.
But many families also know once they do, DCU can control your players next steps if it’s not a good fit bc they can put you on their protected list and demand fees from another MLS academy if they want you.

So there’s a lot to lose if DCUA is not a good fit. And to be fair, if the goal is to go to a top D1, DCUA would still be a good environment regardless of its reputation. But for those who have a serious shot at pro (which is a tiny number likely), it would be a disaster.[/quote]
