[/quote] If you were alive in the 70s, you know that most current Democratic politicians are more conservative than their predecessors. A lot of them are more conservative than 20th century Republicans. People urging Democrats to appeal to "moderates" or say that they themselves are "moderates" are really pretty conservative.
