The stress level on all three of them is enormous.

I've had to put $2000 on a company credit card to get one woman's car released from the repo man. Another single Mom had her car repossessed but manage to scrape up enough funds to get her car back from the repo man. In a rural county you need a car to get to work, get to school, and get food.

All three would have a better life with a reliable spouse making an average paycheck who could bare some of the load. Being handy with car repairs would be a plus too.

Why didn't one of them (or all of them) have kids with a reliable man?

Several women I know had children out-of-wedlock with the "bad boys" they loved during their late teens. If you know he is unreliable why have his kid? If you don't know if he is reliable, why not wait until you know to have his kid?
