Did everyone miss the fact that Gabby worked as a pharmacy technician to save up her share of the money to make this trip? So, she did have a job and in many states that job requires certification. Yes, you only need a high school diploma to get the training, but she wasn't just sitting around not working for years and years, as some posters seem to think she was. Second, I love how so many posters think the parents could have completely controlled Gabby. "Why did Gabby’s parents allow her to move in with Brian’s family ? Why can’t she stay on her own or with her own family , go to college, start a career path ? Why is she not finding those supports at home ? Something isn’t right there ." She was in love. She wanted to be with the guy. She was 22. The parents can't force her to move back to New York. I know a lot of parents with daughters several years younger who have tried unsuccessfully to get them away from guys they thought were bad news. And please note that her parents are divorced and her father recently moved to Florida "to be closer to his daughter." So, maybe he did have concerns, but all he could do was move close to her and let her know he and his wife were there for her if things with Brian fell apart. He may also been able to see and talk with her regularly so he could assess how she was coping with her anxiety and OCD. In all honesty, I don't know what more he could have done with a 22 year old daughter.
Lol that’s just one person posting over and over again
