Hmm. No one ever told me I was supposed to volunteer at meets. I read all the emails and stay with my daughter through meets and talk to the coaches at the meets and attend some practices. What am I missing?
That is really odd. Who is running the meet? If this is MCSL - you are supposed to be volunteering. My husband times or does Stroke and Turn at each A meet and time trials and sometimes I do ribbon writing and meet setup. And I have little kids too young for the swim team too who make this all very difficult. Teams should be assigning jobs or have minimums hours. We have to volunteer 6-7 times each season. If your daughter is over the age of 7 or 8, she should be with her team 95% of the time - not you. The coach has to watch all the kids - stop talking to them during the meet. They really don't want to talk about your kid non stop. WE have one of those clingy parents who talks to the coach non stop and she is made fun of all the time.
