Trump is not Houdini.  He is a populist, but not a very good one.  If he wins, it will be because he is good enough at it.  Still, I think the dynamic hasn't changes much at all.  It's just energized both sides, but I don't see anyone changing their mind over this.[/quote]

Anyone paying attention knew RBG wouldn’t make it through a second Trump term.  But this will bring it to the forefront for those who don’t pay much attention to scouts, which is most people.  And it will cause Trump to put a single name out there.  Someone with actual positions and who will be subject to public questions about those positions.  So I think how it plays will depend in large part who he picks.  If he goes for Barrett, it is a Democrat’s dream come true because she has many public extreme positions that won’t play well with middle of the road voters.  If he goes for someone more mainstream, it probably won’t be an issue except for the respective bases.[/quote]
