I like the 24 year old age limit.

If what you wrote was implemented immediately youth soccer would have 16 year old "freshman" (held back 2 years in 8th grade typically for sports)  playing against 14 year olds.

It would be a HUGE drop in club participation because players would clearly see that teams dont matter playing down 2 years does. Why go though all the effort and pay the big fees if you're not planning to play down.

Also private schools would be in alignement with club soccer and would take over the college recruitment pathway from clubs by offering scholarships + fielding all the best players in an area.[/quote]

Thats how things are now and why theres a u18/u19 group that already exists.

I wish people would learn more about GY before they post wild nonsense. No club leagues arent changing to GY. Yes leagues are changing from BY to SY by doing so 99% of the players on the field during games will be the same grade. (If you include Aug birthdays playjng up)[/quote]Very few competitive August kids are going to play up, just increases chance to play in college to play on age. Some Sept-Dec will play up, bunch of May-July went to school late. Probably 1in 8 in SY will be in different grades than other players.[/quote]
