Well, kind of. A true kidnapper would have written a few words on a piece of paper and gotten out of there with JB, not lingered for hours in the house where they may have been caught (see: Elizabeth Smart).

Since Patsy knew exactly what happened with JB, she had time to do a practice note, then write the real one. Then, carefully place it on the stairs up to the bedrooms. She would have also known the amount ($118,000) of John's Christmas bonus, which was included in the ransom note.

And, of course, the ransom call which the "kidnappers" referenced in the ransom note never happened because, well, they were in the house already.[/quote]
