I think the biggest problem he can cause would be with policing and the police. The mayor has the ability to install the chief of police. NYC was cleaned up in part by bringing in very tough chiefs of police. After de Blasio, Adams ran as a former police officer who promised to clean up de Blasio's mess. It's already an uphill battle due to the huge influx of illegal immigrants that have overwhelmed the city's resources, combined with Zero Bail.

I will add, that NY is constitutionally mandated to have a balanced budget. The way that gets done is by cutting services. It is clear that politicians like Mamdani don't understand, or I should say don't care about reality, and just say whatever will get votes from people who want to believe the rhetoric.[/quote]
