Yes, many posters here say pro isn't a pathway for girls (They scoff at the pay). They say girls only want to get college and a "real" career paid for. That basically means NCAA would be rec, at the heart of it. Don't get me wrong, historically, the NCAA was THE pathway to elite levels of the women's game, but the soccer landscape is evolving where that probably won't be the case long-term. It's up to ECNL to decide how to handle. Right now, for girls, it's THE name and can do both. I don't think the NWSL wants to pick any league over another (say GA) but one must wonder what the BY/SY switch may mean.[/quote]
