Thanks OP you and some of the other encouraged me to go out and get my CCW.
Come back and tell us when you use it to successfully defend yourself. Thanks!
https://twitter.com/Killmoenetwork/status/1718667243758719321 Well, this person successfully defended themselves last night.
You celebrating a dead teenager?
Yep. Absolutely!
Humanity is doomed. Too many a-holes.
Like you who want sympathy for dangerous criminals (of any age) who completely brought this on themselves.
It’s a tragedy. It didn’t need to end with DEATH.
Volenti non fit injuria.
He was a CHILD.
DP No, he was a criminal predator who might just have easily murdered you or me.
no, he was a child. like the 12 yr old who was shot to death a while ago after he was out at 4am with people breaking into cars. they are really young kids and if you can't see that what kind of person are you? I am not somebody who makes light of crime. I am a middle aged pearl clutcher who came from a place where carjackings do not exist and a murder in town would be the big news on the front page of the newspaper. after 23 years in DC, I am now considering for the first time whether to move somewhere else, specifically for the uptick in crime. also, having 14 yr olds doing so much of it makes it even more scary because they have no brain. however, i still have humanity to see that these are super young kids, barely out of elementary school. i have a 14 yrd old and she is never out at 2 am, actually not even at 9pm and she would never carjack anybody, notwithstanding the current lack of consequences. It is not hard to see that these kids are growing up in some type of environment that fail them big time. i want to be safe but I wonder if there is anything that can be done for these children to help them grow up into normal adults other than shooting them dead or incarcerating them for decades at 13.
Honestly, you are the problem. You are from somewhere else, you come here and excuse this youth crime madness "their brains are underdeveloped" ... "I wonder if" but have zero real solutions, and then you have the gall in the same breath to talk about moving because you have the luxury to do so. So you want lenient policy in a city for everyone to endure who can't leave, while you contemplate hightailing it. because crime is out of control. Is this satire??? So myopic.
look, i am not the problem at all. i dont make excuses and i never in my life thought "their brains are underdeveloped". i was 15 too a long time ago and had a very clear understanding that shooting or stabbing people was a big no-no, shoplifting was bad and you dont do it so i expect that any 15 yr old knows it too. i mentioned how was the place where i am from because i keep hearing that crime is normal in a city and what's the big deal and actually no, it is a big deal and it is normal to live in places where you are not killed for a car by a bored teen because i grew up in a place like that. i am sure it helps that i come from a country with reasonable gun control laws so there are actually no 14 olds going around armed. I also never said i want leniency. i certainly dont think that a child who commits a carjacking should just go home like nothing happened because it is a serious crime. i am simply noting that where there is an epidemic of serious crimes committed more and more by young children, the issue is more than one bad apple that should be killed or locked up for life.
