There truly is a place for all those who want to play in college. There are just over 120 D1 wlax programs. The level of play varies greatly from top to bottom, offering opportunities for many. I’d say the programs can be grouped by tiers. Tier 1: 1-30; Tier 2: 31-60; Tier 3: 61-90; and Tier 4: 91+. Even within Tier 1 there is a big discrepancy between the Top 10 and 11-30. The level of athleticism, speed, and skill varies greatly as you move up in tiers. Top 20 D2 and D3 programs will usually beat tier 4 teams. Sometimes tier 3. So, players have many options at these levels as well.[/quote]
