Not really. They’re not the same. No other country gives free mortgages. But plenty of countries provide free college educations. Society benefits from an educated population. I know conservatives like to rundown higher education but come on![/quote]

+100000000. Isn't this what we should be about? I have paid taxes toward public schools forever and do not have children attending public schools. I have no issue with helping out those who might need it in these tough times. I hope so many teachers benefit greatly and can use that boost for something else they need or want. This decision makes me happy.[/quote]

Exactly. It seems like many nowadays don’t want any good for others unless they personally benefit. I was very happy for the child credits during the pandemic even though I didn’t benefit from it. It’s like people have turned their backs on “the common good”.[/quote]

No.  It isn’t what we are about. [b] I am way more in favor of universal
Health care than paying [/b]for an UMC persons tuition.  A 25 year old making 120k gets this.  That’s a lot of money for a young person but they are eligible.   If it were means tested or connected to public service then maybe.  But this is just a give away. [/quote]

A lot of republicans are in favor of universal health care. But we won’t push it until the borders are secure because our country cannot afford to provide health care to the world.   [/quote]
