I think it's also possible his family believe the dumb story he's supposedly pedaling that his ex-con employee was the one actually downloading the CP and that his new attorney will be able to prove his innocence. A lot of the family comments have said things like "the truth will come out" or "this must go through the justice system". [/quote]

Good luck. Cp is usually an incidental and additional finding. Ten bucks the two-year-investigation includes tax evasion or similar soon enough.
