DD’s candid response: it looks like what would happen if a community college  spent $200M upgrading.  She’s not wrong. It started as a commuter school before it made its big USNWR move. And you have a central area near a pond, but don’t get the quad with residences and academic buildings and sports fields all in one place.  It’s more like— they needed a dorm, so they managed to buy some land near the college and build a dorm. And maybe next time they needed a dorm it’s a mile away.   But it seems all mixed up into the surrounding neighborhood. It looks like they had to take the space available and tear down and build as they expanded.  The outskirts of the campus are defined, but it’s hard to tell from one building to the next whether it’s campus or town.  Even the architecture is just a mess.

It just does not seem like a community. It’s worse and uglier than GW. [/quote]
