I wonder if the adoption would have even taken place, had it not been for the show? Let's assume that the show did not become a show but was just a one-time special. Maybe Cate and Tyler would have stayed together, but I'm guessing not. Maybe they would have furthered their education, but again, I'm guessing not. However, they would have had to get some form of a job. The show has enabled them both not to have to work "real jobs." Hope they've been saving some of their money, b/c I don't see the show going on forever (but maybe I'm wrong...it's gone on this long!) Does anyone question whether Dr. Drew is acting ethically by enabling this behavior?
The adoption would have gone through, I think. Dr. Drew is horrible.
Agreed. I think Cate and Tyler would have been much healthier had their story only been the one episode. But now their "story" has become them wallowing over the adoption of Carly. The constant prodding to dicsuss her and what they did has held them back. They've never been able to grieve giving her up and then move forward. And I agree with the other poster that said without this show, they would have been forced to get jobs and get off the couch. I think they also wouldn't be together. And would be much happier as a result.
