Trump said "We determined that, after really a tremendous amount of study with some of the best architects in the world, we determined that really knocking it down" [was the best course of action]. What I want to know is who are these architects?
A simple google search provides the answer. The architect designing the new White House ballroom is James McCrery, principal of McCrery Architects. The project, which involves demolishing the East Wing to build a new 90,000-square-foot ballroom, is being funded by private donors. McCrery is a classical architect, and the project is being built by Clark Construction with engineering by AECOM. And here's an article about him in an architecture newsletter. https://www.punchlistmag.com/p/what-to-know-about-james-mccrery-trump-s-white-house-architect-baf3a5b393403350
You’re missing the point, yes he worked with one crappy architect. His colleagues said his style wasn’t true neoclassical and he’s known for designing churches. Not “some of the best architects in the world.”
