I get all that but Musk also can make flawed decisions like insisting all vision is sufficient for safety when it may not be. That’s a “bet the farm” (or at least $billions in terms of tech investment and deployed product) decision that may not pan out. Look at the questions the Feds are asking re: what they actually intend to roll out in Austin.

If the answer needs to be “we need a whole new FSD software stack and/or augmented hardware to increase the autonomy level”, then the stock is in real trouble because of a bad bet on the farm. It seems like the Feds are skeptical that FSD/tech as it is can overcome things like poor visibility, in the case of Tesla without LiDAR can only be solved by the cameras, thanks to Musk. If that’s a “fail”, there is no fast adjust, rinse and repeat option for the whole Tesla fleet and all of its owners globally.
