[/quote] That’s not how it works. FCPS uses a formula based on the specific total school population to determine how many teachers can be hired at each school. And then the principal can place them accordingly. But often they don’t qualify for an additional teacher and one upper grade level that is larger can suffer as a result. The state cap for grades 4-6 is 35. For Grades 1-3 it’s lower. Priority is given to lower grades with regards to class sizes.[/quote]
