Geez, people get some perspective![/quote] There was a time when stuyvesant/bronxscience/brooklyntech was more or less in a class of it's own as public magnet schools. TJ didn't exist, Bergen academy didn't exist, BASIS and charter schools didn't exist. For what it's worth, Stuyvesant has about 50% FARM. I think Brooklyn Tech is a Title 1 school. TJ used to be about 2% FARM. It's about 15% FARM now. I don't mind a set aside for FARM kids but I am concerned that the lack of an objective standardized exam is not allowing TJ to select the most prepared kids. I really don't see why this 1.5% plan and FARM preferences can't co-exist with a test.[/quote]
