When FCV started, they only included girls ECNL teams and they were associated with SYA. Lower teams played in different leagues as SYA teams. ECNL started because girls were an afterthought for US soccer. US soccer had started the DA for boys and did not include girls. There was a falling out with SYA and FCV tried to align with different clubs. Finally they stayed with Ashburn and boys teams were started. Someone can correct me if I am wrong.
Actually, it was Terry Foley and he started FCV with FYPC due to lack of fields. Then CYA?..., Then SYA....again using them for fields. When FCV and SYA had a falling out, they secured new opened Evergreen for fields. Terry Foley then had a master plan to create a mega FCV club by bringing in Ashburn, Annandale, and South County. South County and Annandale subsequently pulled out. Ashburn remained which gives them access to Bles. Loudoun Soccer has a monopoly on almost all county fields. Terry and Clyde are two important names in the creation of ECNL. Terry sold the club Christian and Christian to TSJ.
I am not so sure Loudoun has a monopoly on all county fields. They’re losing permits due to their business decisions and disenchantment with unethical procedures.
